Losing their home in the May 2010 flood was certainly a tragedy, but this couple's new home turned into a blessing. This project brought to bear all of Capitol Homes' strengths as a custom home builder. First, we had unique zoning issues to work through. Then we worked quickly to learn the new, soon-to-be-implimented FMA flood standards. To insure the homeowners' peace of mind, this one of the very first homes in Nashville to implement the new standards, even before they were officially required. One of the unique features of this home is the bead board paneling, salvaged from the original home, which was left to one of the homeowners by the grandparents who raised her. Restoring and intergrating these panels into the new home allowed the owner to preserve a connection to the past, and helped turn this tragedy into a blessing.
